Default What C4 front brake pads?

I need to replace the front pads on my 95, I see there a few types such as ceramic, and the usual types.

Any reccommendations?

Default Brake Pad clips?????????????

Hi Warren

What ever you do make sure that the brake pads come with clips or they will rattle like a bee bee in a freight car!!!!!!

On my 96 the previous owner put on new brake pads without the clips and l almost lost my mind.

I finally settled for the Delco with the clips and they are as good as l will ever need.

Most of the other brake pads are excellent but for everyday driving you would need a calibration machine to tell the difference.

I think the dealer that did mine forgot the clips too?
Can you just buy the clips or do you have to buy new pads that come with them ??

Default Pad Choices

Did some homework before changing mine and narrowed the field. All of these come with the clips for quiet operation. They are integrated into the pads themselves. I re-used the little black fabric pieces on the rears too.

Look into Hawk, EBC Greenstuff, Performance Friction and Axxis. The Kevlar compound in EBC got my vote, but many swear by Hawk. Hib likes Axxis. The PF dust very little, but the characteristics are a bit different from 'regular' pad compunds. The new Vettes have Ceramic pads. AC stock are fine too.

It's not something to skimp on. I put new rotors on with stainless brake lines while we were at it and wow a big difference. Good luck.

Delco has the clips attached, if they weren't, then you were ripped off by your dealer.

Where l come from, dealers (General Motors) only use Delco unless you are upgrading to something that the individual dealership sells.
