Help I can't open the hood.

How can I get my hood open with out destroying anything? The clip on the drivers side latch broke and the right side works! Help It's a 87 coupe

You need something like this:

If you have a Mid America catalog, it's on page 4-82 a 609-637 Hood opening tool. If not, call and order one, 800 500 1500 $19.95. If you have a friend with a vette, you can practice with the tool with the hood open before you try yours.

I had the same thing, had to go through the wheel well and manually reached up and popped it.

Once you get the hood open, make yourself a "back-up" hood release, one for each side.

A short piece of wire, one end tied to the release mechanism and the other end laying loose on the air intake screen under the wiper arms. If a cable breaks on you again, just reach under, grab the wire and release the hood catch!!
