My Corvette(s):
Default Front Engine Oil Leak

I am not to concerned yet, but I am seeing oil on the cross member frame under the front of the motor. I checked the manual and I suspect it is the front oil pan seal. Anybody else see this before?

Could also be a leaking Crankshaft Position sensor. I've had both.

I had the same leak. Replaced the crank position sensor and still had the leak.

Finally determined it was coming from the water pump drive shaft seal. The oil was dripping down ON the crank position sensor, and from there onto the front crossmember.

It's a real PITA job to do too, considering it's all about a 25 cent o-ring.
