Im done running leaded gas.
I was having Mike tackle a low speed drivability issue on my car. He said leaded gas is probably the culprit. As we all know leaded gas can/will damage your O2 sensor. I figured as I was running no cats, plus the extra heat supplied by the turbos Id be ok. I was right and wrong. Since Matt pretty much only uses his B2k to race it works out fine, my car is the same way.
Anytime Id been driving for an extended period on the highway or boosting, it would idle fine. But it was the putting around town that was giving me all the problems. Kick the AC on and the car would stall at a red light.....not fun.
Next issue, the EGR valve was sticking. Could this be caused by leaded gas? I'll probably cap it off when I do my manifold swap.
So anyway Im going to have a new O2 sensor put in and I guess from now on I'll only run 100 unleaded instead of the 110 leaded I was getting for the same price.

If you run Phillips gas, it has a "agent" in it that makes the lead deposits stick well past the o2 sensor...... I have run "brand x" (VP) gas and have had it mess up O2 sensors, but phillips is good to go for daily driving if you must do that with your callaway, GN, GNX, TTA, Supra or whatever......

The only place that sells leaded gas around here sells Unocal 76.
I don't daily drive my car, but I do take it out on weekends and cruise around a bit.

Your EGR valve is just a vacuum actuated valve. It's really not in the loop to be effected by much anything other than old age and heat. If they get stuck, they usually get stuck in the closed position and won't allow exaust gas recirculation. No big deal. Not a driveability issue really. Pull it off and cap it and you won't notice a difference whatsoever. Though, the car may detect that the solenoid connection is missing-- it'll throw a code-- but it won't effect driveability.
Single O2 sensor gone arwry... yeap, time for a replacement unless you're staying pedal to the metal!

use of leaded fuels will cause the problem you mentioned easy fix though, new o2 sensor and a promise to run 104 unl oct. gas & you will be fine
I saw a station in town charging $2.01 for 93 today
on the outskirts, it is about $1.85 for the same
How much is 104 / gal ??

Surf, that's pretty good. Who sells that kind of gas at that price?
I pay $6.30/gal for VP Motorsport 103 unleaded at the pump.
http://www.vpracingfuels.com/vp_01_f...04E78#unleaded
They also have 110 race gas but that's a bit drastic.
It's nice to have a VP station a few minutes away.

Luigi,
thats crazy money for that gas. I get it at a local truck stop here in town.
114 leaded = 4.79
110 leaded = 3.99
100 leaded = 3.79
100 unleaded = 3.99
