Like most y-bodies I've seen, my hatch lifters are worn out. I am wondering if any of you guys have run across a CHEAP replacement for them, as I would rather continue to use a stick to prop the hatch than pay what the stealership would like ;).
Thanks in advance,
-Craig

Try NAPA or a store like AutoZone, Shucks, Kragens, etc.
PepBoys just got a whole line of these things...I think application for our cars were about 25 dollars each. They are called "Sachs Stabilus Lift O Mat"
Here is a site someone made a hood assist and got rid of the scissor type assist.

Heres how I see it!!! buy 2 sets of the cheap ones OR suck it up and buy the ones that you know WILL WORK THE WAY THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO!!!!! A friend of mine bought the CHEAP ONES, Two weeks later he bought a new rear HATCH, The bargain cyls. didnt stop the hatch softly at the end of its travel. The hatch distroyed itself!!!!!! SO, PAY IT NOW OR PAY IT LATER!!!!!!!!:(
