Default Grand Sport Stripe?

I am gonna put the full length GS stripe on my 95 (white car- black stripe). I'm gonna have a local shop paint it. What is the width of the stripe and does it taper anywhere or stay the same length. I want it to look as accurate as possible and I cant find anyone in my area with a GS to ask.

I think this will compliment the ZR-1 replica wheels I just got. (They're powrdercoated black).

Thanks for any help.

Bob

Bob,

from the front of the hood to the back of the hood it widens.

On the targa top it is wider at the windshield and narrows to the hatch glass.

the rear bumper is one width top to bottom.

I think my hood it the same as a GS, but my rear bumper is different due to the C5 tailights. Also i believe my roff stripe was changes as well.

From the Grand Sport Registry site, here are the numbers:

14. Q: What are the dimensions of the Grand Sport pinstripes?

The factory 2-color decal pinstripes are 1/4" wide (white) and 1/4" (blue) measured out from the wide center stripe. Actually, they are just a tiny bit narrower than this, but 1/4" is plenty close enough. From the front of the car going back, measuring across the wide center stripe only (not including the pinstripes):
  • at the very bottom of the nose below the front license plate: 17"
  • across "Corvette" on the front license plate cover: 17-1/8"
  • across the Corvette emblem on the nose: 18"
  • even with the top of the headlamp openings: 19"
  • 1/2 way up the hood: 20"
  • at the rear of the hood: 21-1/4"
  • across the top, front (coupe): 19-5/16"
  • across the top, middle (coupe): 19"
  • across the top, back (coupe): 18-5/8"
  • across the gas cap: 17"
  • across "Corvette" at the rear: 16-7/8"
  • below the rear license plate: 16-3/4"
You can find this and lots more about Grand Sports at www.grandsportregistry.com.

My version is a little different but close enough.

17" at the front plate area
18" at the gap between the front bumper and the hood
22" at the rear of the hood - the stripes max width follows the hood's power bulge and 1" inside
18.5" across the targa top and halo bar
18.5" on the rear deck and bumper

I had the "pinstripes" painted on also.

Anytime.
Here's my 'reverse GS'. The stripe is a little different and the color is 98 Pace Car radar blue.

Default Bingo!

That's almost exactly where I'm headin. I got the ZR-1 rims in powder coat balck and I'll probably take the stripe over the front end. The side stripes will be black.
Thanks again,
Bob

Yeah I have a blue tinted roof too. I have not used it in a couple of years. I should probably use it more. I like having the rook be transparent
