Default Need Help With Resto

Hello, i'm new to the forum, but was hoping to get some help on the disassembly of my 81 vette. I've recently aquired garage space, and am beginning the teardown of my vette to the frame. I have some body shop experience, but am finding it difficult to remove the front clip on the vette, these cars are nothing like the metal body panel cars i'm used to working on. I was wondering if anyone could recommend any good books, videos, literature etc, specifically outlining how to teardown these beautiful works of automotive art. I have the haynes repair manual, but find it lacking in most areas. any help would be appreciated. Thanks

John

Welcome to the registry... I had the same questions..I bought an assembly manual it shows exploded views of all parts and pieces very handy, with that and a GM service manual....Both are cheap...For all other things just ask the people here someone always knows..

Thanks for the advice mac, i've seen those assembly manuals in my mid america catalogs, and I'll definetly order them asap. I'm anxious to keep the teardown moving along. Does anyone know how to take off the front clip, i dont see any screws, but it appears to be well attached to the rest of the car. I'm trying to be careful as we all know how fragile fiberglass is. thanks again mac495
