Default heater/ac illumination

I have have a 81 and all the interior lights work except my heater /ac controls I takend apart center console and find no place for a light. Is there suppose to be one?

Hey Shawn,

The light for the controls is in the DASH above the gauges. If you run your hand along the dash pad you'll feel it

It is a special bulb with a magnifier tip on it to focus the light onto the console for the heater/aircondition controls. When you remove the center gauge cluster be very careful when removing the bezel.. Every one I've seen has a sharpe edges and will cut or tear the vinyl. Use a small screw driver to help lower the cluster to clear the sharpe edges.

I believe the light number is listed on the L81VetteRegistry in the tech section under bulbs

HI, I have this same problem but can not feel the light above the dash pad, is there any difference between the 79 and 81? Or am i doin something wrong? THANKS
