Default Too good a deal?

Why does this deal seem too good to be true? Buy it now price of only 16k? Wouldn't this car be worth a least twice as much?

It's another hijacked auction, a total scam. There's other threads explaining how this happens and what eBay is trying to do about it.

Well it seems that there are a lot of these "hyjacked" auctions, check the corvette section. There is a 2003 Z06 for 15k and a 1954 for $5k both with a "buy it now" option available only to "pre approved buyers". what gives?

Seems like what they really want is lots of your personal info gathered during the pre-approved step.....bet you can guess why they really want the info.

i recently reported another one to e bay. most of these cars are in europe and after payment, supposedly they ship the car here. they use a U.S based person to list cars for them. dont know of anyone who received car after payment. person listing the car claims ignorance of rules. a little different than the Nigerian Scam but same results

what gives is the scammer wants a few thou deposit from the buy it now person, then he vanishes into the mist of cyber land . . . if you are curious try contacting the seller on one of these deals, chances are you will even get the stock sob-story about how the car was his dad's, pops was just killed by cancer, quick sale, send a deposit to hold the car for you, blah blah blah
