What color wheels are the best and why??

I PERSONALLY THINK HIGHLY POLISED OR CHROME WHEELS SET OFF A DARK
COLOR CAR IT ADDS CONTRAST (REPAINTED 85 BLKROSE COUPE w/CHROME ZR1'S)
LOOKS LIKE A COMPLETELY DIFFRENT CAR.......

I vote aluminum because its lighter and it doesn't rust...A good polish can make aluminum as shinny as chrome...

Yes, but aluminum oxidizes really quickly. A lot of maintanence (sp?). I chose chrome. :)

Doesn't chrome need a fair amount of cleaning and care? I think chrome can pit too if you're not careful.

The polished aluminum wheels on my 2000 look like chrome, don't tarnish, cleanup easily, and contrast nicely with the Dark Bowling Green Metallic paint.

Are those stock wheels, doylede? I didn't know that the newer Vettes had aluminum wheels on them. That's what I have too. :)

I like the look of the wheels on my car, but I think chrome is great too :)

Yes, they are stock. Optional on all C5's I think. The Z06 stock wheels are similar, but each spoke is split into two close spokes.
Stock C5 wheels are dull finish.

Excuse me, I meant that standard C5 wheels are dull finish.

The optional polished 5 spoke wheels on the C5's are simple, clean and nicely compliment the straingt forward design of the car. Alright, maybe I'm a "little" prejudice.

Although I voted for black, high polished chrome look the best for most applications, but it depends on the car. Mine for example has no chrome on it anywhere, and with black powdered tipped exhaused I think bllack wheels would look the best. Chrome would also look good, depends alot on the wheel itself.

Buster1, Where in Italy are you stationed? My son in law is stationed at Aviano AFB in northern Italy. I just visited them in Jan/Feb.

Thanks for the reply Gary,

I agree with you about the lack of chrome. There is no chrome on my 2000. I think the 2001 or 2002 models added chrome exhaust tips, but mine are just stainless blackened by use.

The wheels aren't chrome either. They are polished aluminum.

Rally Wheels rock. I've recently seen a C5 on which the owner had put C3 Rallys. Although they were a bit small, they looked great. Of course, they are even greater on a big-block C3...

Gotta go with the BLACK on a red car! Looks very agressive and, IMHO, oh so cool!

That does look cool.

Black !

I hate chrome with a passion. That is why I bought the sport edition Ram truck. I want to find a set of GS rims for the Vette but $$$ is an issue.
