Default Goldline Tires?

I remember walking thorugh the Carlisle swap meet and seeing sets of "Goldline tires" for sale. I have never heard of "Goldline tires" would like to know more about them.

Same as the old "redline" tires but they were just gold in place of red.

I believe that the gold line tires were only available in 65 and 66. I've seen Firestone and Goodyear in goldlines. Recent reproductions have DOT numbers, but back in the 70's, Terry Michaelis (now of Pro-Team) began reproducing many Corvette parts, including goldline and redline tires. They did not have DOT numbers. I don't know if you can tell them apart from "originals".
