My Corvette(s):
Default A Zr1 get together in DFW area Everyones invited.

There has been some discussion of a get together on the ZR1net list server and a date of April 10th has been set ...Everyone is invited and should be a good warm up to the Gathering in Bowling Green ....Heres the lastest email on the get together;;;;

Howdy all,

First thing: everyone is invited, so please forward this to anyone that
is off list that would be interested in attending.

Now is the time to make hotel/airline/travel reservations for the ZR-1
BBQ we're holding in north Texas on April 10th at Jim's famous
(infamous?) hanger, even if you aren't sure you'll be making it (hotel
reservations can be canceled with no charge). Although McKinney may be
slightly closer, Frisco is more centrally located with more to do and a
little nicer, so I went and scoped out some hotels there. The Hampton
Inn is very nice, especially for the price, and appears to have enough
parking that trailers wouldn't be a problem. If the Hampton Inn fills
up for some reason, the backup hotel is the Holiday Inn Express. If you
need material to bribe your spouse and/or kids into attending with you,
the hotels are within a few minutes drive of one of a very large indoor
mall [complete with NHL sized ice rink and a Dave & Busters, among many
other attractions]: http://www.shopstonebriar.com/

Food plans: Unless someone comes up with a better idea, we were planning
on buying BBQ from one of the local places to eat Saturday late
afternoon/evening. If you're interested in eating, it looks like this
will be about $8/head. We'll follow in Glenn and Mary's footsteps and
have everyone bring their own drinks (there are plenty of places to buy
anything you want in Frisco).

Other activities: We haven't firmed up plans yet, but we're will be
doing something Friday night as well... throwing around ideas like
indoor [or maybe outdoor] cart racing, or MAYBE going to one of the drag
strips in the north Texas area - anyone want to help check this out?
