fuel gauge stuck on full

just took out my 1996 vette out of storage. hit a small bump, my fuel gauge went up to full. all other gauges - instruments are fine. I have refilled the gas tank and am still having the problem. I have stored the car the same way for 3years

Sounds like the float is stuck at the top of its travel. The float is part of the pump assembly and you can remove the whole thing from the top of the tank.

It could also be a bad ground or bad sending unit.
