Anybody out there know how the keyless start system that’s going to be on the C6 works?

I saw my first Cadillac XLR up close today and saw the keyless ignition. The rectangular dash panel had a button about the size of a dime and two LCDs. I think one was labeled ON and the otherACC. I’m sure the Vette will share the same system with the XLR. There was no key slot anywhere on the car ( inside or out)
I assume the FOB will sense and authorize start and pressing the button will turn the starter to crank the engine. I guess you press the button again to shut the engine off.

Has anybody heard anymore about this new system?

Based on what I have read, your aaumptions are right on. A key fob anywhere near the door will open it and prep the start system a la the XLR.

Is the entry to the car passive or does it require a push of the button on the fob to open the car and prep ignition? If it's all passive I find this ironic as they introduced PKE on the C4, it carried over to the early C5 but disappeared sometime down the line only to come back in the C6. Pretty interested in how this works. :)
