Default Battery Question

For a 1973, what would the best replacement battery be? The one that came with the car looks more like a motorcycle battery than a car battert - it's pretty small.

Suggestions? I'm starting to think this may also be the reason why my battery meter hasn't worked since I got the car.

Thanks as always..

I just get mine at WalMart. Only $39 to $59 and come with a three year no questions replacement warranty.

Default Optima ?

Several friends have put Optima "gel" batteries in their high dollar imports but they're extremely pricey!

Are they really any better ?? I'm less concerned with originality than with long life and performance.

Has anyone on the board had experience with this type of battery in a C-3 or other model ??
Thanks-

I've heard the WalMart at $50 something is the same as the Die Hard Gold. 3 year free replacementfrom WM. That's what I put in my '69. Other than that, I'd go Delco. They make *****in' batteries. They never seem to die. I've also "heard" some less than favorable comments on the Optima's. Seems new production isn't as good as it was. Again, it's what I've "heard."
