Default replace stock carb/distributor/coil/dump computer

I recently replaced my stock 350 engine with a hp Gm Crate engine with 9.1:1 compression ratio, 380 ft. lbs. torque @ 3800. cam lift .435" I. next I want to dump the computer, replace the stock quadajet carb with a road demon gpt-4282010ve with 625 cfm, vacuum secondaries, electric choke. also, smd distributor with vacuum advance and coil blaster II. will this wake up my hp crate engine with more torque and horsepower or will I need to go the more expensive route and convert to fuel injection replace the stock computer with a newer one with a performance chip? Has anybody tried either of these?

Thanks for your input!

I honestly don't know how much control the ECM has over the engine or what it takes to remove it but its already EFI .

Going with an aftermarket EFI system isn't going to provide much benefit, if at all.

I am sure you can make it work with the stock carb it has on it already.

Hopefully others will provide more information as to what adjustments need to be made for the different engine.

Get a decent junkyard NON-ECM controlled Qjet from variety of GM's (& have it rebuilt) ... get a decent junkyard HEI dist w/ BOTH vac & mech advances from various NON-ECM Chevy V8's years '75-up (freshen/rebuild it) ... or brand new from Accel & others for under $150. GM supplies same type dist w/ ZZ4 crate ... separate about $225. I've got a brand new Accel HEI without coil I'll sell for $125 + ship. OEM coil in good condition will be plenty for driver. Qjet in good shape is likely best choice for driver because it flows about 750 cfm but has small primary bores for snappy throttle reponse. Dump the computer/ECM. Install freshened dist & carb. Doing this will realize just as much improvement as expensive MSD and/or Road Demon.
