Hummmm!
Since you say they open correctly in the garage and close shortly after leaving the garage, it would seem that the light sensor is getting a false reading that it is still light outside side long after you think they should be on.
That is beyond my knowledge now. Hope you figure it out soon.

First off, do you have any Diagnostic Trouble Codes set in your Driver Information Center? Please post them if you do, along with which control modules (BCM, PCM, etc.) they came from. If you don't know how to find these, check out the KnowledgeBase:
http://corvetteactioncenter.com/kb/q....php?qstId=242
Next, a few questions from the flow chart (well, table, actually...) in the service manual:
2. Do the Daytime Running Lamps turn on in daylight conditions?
3. Do the DRLs turn off in low light conditions?
If NO for #2:
16. Is the brake warning indicator always on?
If you can answer these questions, we'll have more to go on and help you with. Please check on these things and post back. Good luck!
Fred

Yeah, I don't think those are gonna be part of your problem. Looks like some issues in the past related to the Remote Function Actuators (key fobs) and the Door Control Modules.

Hmmm. If 2 is YES, then 3 is YES, step #4 is next, but it involves a scan tool. You're supposed to hook the scan tool up and go to BCM special functions. Then, "command the Automatic Lamp Control Headlamp relay On and Off" to see if the relay shows the correct position.
I don't have a scan tool, so I'm not really sure about this step. I believe the actual GM Tech2 scan tools are several thousand $$$. I think you can purchase lesser scan tools for a few hundred $$$, but I'm not sure what you lose when you go this route. If anybody else has any thoughts here, esp. about the scan tools, please chime in.

well the headlights are fixed, but not with return trips to the dealer to refix what thay said was working just fine when i picked the car up,the problem i was told was the BCM and i would not have any more problems.so on the way home i covered the light sensor to see if the lights would come on automaticley but to my disappointment nothing happned i turned around and back i went to the dealer who swor that it was checked a hundred times and it worked every time, but could not make it work with me there thay said i would have to leave the car another day so thay could figure it out.so three days latter the dar seems fixed and when i asked what else thay did i was told the BCM had to be reprgramed,i hope thay have it fixed ,its a pain to have the car at the dealer.
