Default need stock shift points for PCM

c4c5 specialist or anyone else who can help,

Can you please tell me what the stock shift points(for each gear) are for a 97A4 under WOT? Also can you tell me what the revlimiter is set at?

I've just replaced my 3.15's with 3.42's and want to know if I will hit the rev limiter before shifting while at WOT.

Also to make things more complicated I replaced my PCM with a new one back in 2000 so I don't know what would be loaded on my PCM. Is there any way to tell by serial number?

HI there,
You can tell the calibration number of the PCM with a Tech 2, so that you will know what you have in it.
As for the shift points for a 3.42, I cannot speculate. This is something that should never be done. The PCM program is NOT equipped for this mod.
This is where aftermarket programming of the PCM is a necessity, to avoid engine or transmission damage.
Allthebest, c4c5

c4c5 specialist,

Thanks for the hint on the Tech 2! I was wondering if you knew what the shift points are for the 3.15 axle ratio were under WOT(97A4)? Also do you know what the rev limmiter would be set at? The reason why I ask is that I've heard others hitting the rev limiter before the shift point after the 3.42 upgrade. Wouldn't all cars be programed to shift at a point just belowthe rev limiter under WOT conditions?

I plan on upgrading the PCM via LS1edit from a tuner but I wanted to understand what changes would be made and why before I took it to him.

Best regards and thanks for your help,
John

HI there,
While the shift points can change, due to engine load, on a hill, or a flat.
Normally, they will shift at about 6000. However, this could change based on internal transmission condition, or other things.
Rev limiter is 6250, if memory serves.
Allthebest, c4c5
