Default EGR Problem

I have a 77 vette. In the production assembly manual, the EGR vacuum line comes off of the (BOTTOM) fitting of the EGR/TVS on the intake manifold. In the Corvette auto repair manuals it comes off of the (TOP) fitting on the EGR/TVS. Which is correct?????
