Default Found a tag inside the fender??

I was putting on a new rear deck emblem yesterday, which would be a lot easier if the gas tank was sitting on the shop floor!! and noticed a Rockwell tag on the lower inside of the fender behind the rear wheel. I couldn't read much more than that?? Is this common or is this an aftermarket fender??

Rockwell was the manufacturer of the fiberglass parts. I've seen Rockwell tags under NOS light gray fiberglass fenders/quarterpanels. Can't say I've ever taken the time to see if they're under "original-original" midyear fenders. Had a NOS white glass 63 rear quarter panel that I sold several years ago. It didn't have the Rockwell tag. Chuck

Rockwell embedded tags/labels are very common; they made many of the OEM panels, and gradually bought up most of the other smaller fiberglass panel suppliers over the years.

Interesting pic I was expecting just an imbedded stamp, not a color one.

Cool Pic,

Cool find,Thanks for sharing the photo.I think I know from your exsplanation of where the lable is.

The bad news is that from that photo it seems as thought the addtional resen partially covering the label was a repair of some sort.

I own a 1966 and have definatly never seen any thing like that label on my car.

The resin and glass around the sticker is the fender bumper bolt, maybe a repair or reinforcement of that area?

The resin over the label is normal - the label was embedded in the resin when the part was molded.
