WHEN I go out for a drive it could be one mile or ten Ill stop the car and all of the power goes out no lights gauges nothing but after about ten or fifteen minutes everything comes back on .
the battery is good , I thought maybe a circuit breaker resetting itself but even that wouldnt kill all the power.
hope you can help.

Default Welcome Steve!

Welcome to Corvette Action Center.

Would something getting too hot cause this reaction?

We used to have a problem with our starter getting too hot and not wanting to start after turning it off. We'd have tocrawl under and knock the starter lightly to get it to restart, and a heat shield solved this problem. I don't think ours ever lost everything when this happened, though.

Hopefully someone will come along who has had this occur and knows a solution.
Heidi

no its not the starter
it would be the same thing as disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it ten minutes later.
thanks steve!!!!!

Sounds like a possible loose ground or fusable link. It's just a guess, but might lead to something. Good luck!

Hi Steve: And Welcome to

Your problem may be traced to a loose connection at the starter. check the condition of the ignition hook up to the starter & the line running to the Alternator. That sounds like your culpret.

BTW: I left you a message on another thread (saw that one before I saw this thread) Check it out.

Dave

thanks for the advice Im sure its something simple loose connection or dirty contacts .
It doesnt happen all the time but it needs fixed, you have to expect problems like this with a twenty five year old car but thats what its all about
Ill check out what you said and thanks again.
