Hey guys, let me know what you think about this.

I am upgrading to a Richmond six in my 69.

I will offer the four speed from the car for sale.

I linked to the site at the end of this post for pictures and part numbers.

Specs:

Rebuilt in 2000 (seals, synchros)
10 spline.
I don't know the ratio, but I can say there is a minimal RPM drop between gears.

This is the original numbers matching trans from the car when it was still a 350 300 hp small block.

Trans & Hurst Shifter with a new bearing retainer $650

For $850 I will throw in the following:

1. Aluminum correct style bellhousing
2. Small block Flywheel 11"
3. Good re-usable clutch and pressure plate.
4. New release bearing
5. Z bar
6. engine ball stud
7. clutch fork
8. new clutch fork pivot ball
9. new dust boot for the firewall
10. Main clutch rod
11. Misc clips and parts (some new).

chrisnikki@juno.com

The trans is now out and ready to go.

:L No, no bank robbery yet.....

I am however taking on a HUGE project for a friend of mine. We are doing some trading and swapping to each get what we want. I will be replacing the entire birdcage in his 70 vert (the old one is eaten up with rust), and he will take care of the trans and related hardware.

I realize this is truly the "hard way" of getting what I want, but I don't seem to know any other way of doing things!

I will post a step by step thread on the C3 section of ripping the bird cage out of an early C3.

i don't see anything wrong with bartering parts for mechanical work. i have done that for years with motorcycles.
eventually, i hope to meet more of the local c-3 owners around here. i would like to trade some skills for parts.(hint ,hint work at disney for 27 yrs doing auto mech ,then ride and show mechs and building)

Chris, I have a 75 vette (not vert) that I'm parting out, and I'm down to the rear clip - from the firewall back. I don't see any rust around the birdcage, but I'm not 100% sure that I can make a good assessment with the windshield still in place. Do you need any of the parts from the clip?

Mike,

I think I am good on parts right now.

New ride at Disney....sounds cool!

Trading is great....plus there are no taxes!

I am so hung up with this project, and then getting my killer light headlight conversion ready for market...that it may be a bit before I drop the trans. The six speed just came in yesterday. I have not gone to look at it yet. TZracer is holding it for me right now.

Johnny,

I will get all of these numbers just as soon as I can actually get back under the car.

The six speed is in, but I am nowhere near where I hoped to be by now. I am going to hump it today to get this 70 closer to one piece.

I can't pull the trans from the 69 until the 70 is ready to leave my property!

I have been a bit premature in posting this offer, but please bear with me!

Thanks,

Chris

Johnny,

My computer crashed since I first listed this post. I have not removed the trans yet, as the 71 project car has run over the initial projected time.

In any event, if all goes well, the Muncie comes out by this Saturday.

I will post pics and casting numbers right here, and it will be available at that time.

Sorry for the long delay.
