View Full Version : ...and I thought I was ready
With the 50th anniversary celebration coming up I finally got an OK to take my vacation during that week in order to attend. Unfortunately, my vette won't be ready for the road by then. I was rushing to get it done, but didn't want to rush it so much as to get poor results, but there still isn't any way of getting it completed.
I'm going to try to rent one for at least 3 days so my wife and I can head down for the celebration in style.
Wish us luck.

Dave,
I sincerely wish you good luck. The same situation happened to me for the sharkfest 2 years ago. It was great to meet all of the L81 Corvette Registry and CAC folks that showed up, and we shared some good times in the evenings; however, I returned early to my home, for I found it depressing not being able to participate on the many events planned for corvette drivers. Seeing so many Vettes around and not driving my own disconnected me partly from the athmosphere that celebrated the Corvette. Trent gave me a ride in his, and that was treat!! However, it does not compare to driving one's own.
Nevertheless, it was a great experience visiting Kentucky -the view, the wheather, and the people were beautiful and nice. I also went alone, so if would have been accompanied by my wife, then it would also have been more enjoyable -Vette or not. Besides, you mentioned that you plan to rent a Vette, so that would be cool too.
So good luck again!

I drove my wife's Pontiac Vibe to Sharkfest last year. I know what you mean. I did get to ride in Killer and Ken's monster C4 (Wow) so it wasn't a total loss.
