View Full Version : Bought and 81, picking it up tomorrow
Man, I can't wait, I'm like a kid on Xmas eve. :J :J :J
I'll be recieving the car tommorow at noon. They'll be trailering it in from the sellers home. (about an hour away) The private sellers had a car trailer and said they would do me a favor by delivering it. Its a good thing cause I would have had to arrange for an escort driver to bring me down there and follow me back.
Its metalic charcoal with siver interior. Stock L-81 motor as far as I can tell. Numbers all match too. Also has 16" chrome 5 spoke wheels. ( have not determined what brand) Fair rubber.
Its a bit of a project car. Needs some fiberglass work in the front.(Curb rash/cracks) and a good bit of TLC/maintenance.
Pictures soon.
Christmas in June ... Works for me ;)
Take a few minutes and go to the L81 Vette Registry (http://www.L81VetteRegistry.com) and complete our membership registration. It's FREE with NO hidden charges ;) and while there take a quick tour of the Registry.
There are a LOT of L81'ers here at CAC. I'm especially partial to Charcoal Grey with Silver Leather interior :D
Settle in and enjoy the :Steer

How come after I get rid of my 81 everyone goes carzy over 81's. I'm always a day late and a dollar short. Hey I have a few new parts for an 81 if you are interested you can reach me here. I had lots of fun with my 81. It was built on my birthday in Bowling Green. It was two tone autumn red over dark clariet. I now own a 86 C4 vert .Good luck on your purchase.....Bob Yates

In a previous post "kevette" was looking for a nose emblem and if you have one drop him a line.
Myself, I'm need the hinge covers for the seats, I think I can redye them if the wrong color. Maybe list some of the items if you can.

Thanks for the welcome. Well, my 81 arrived at noon today. I'm going to take a few days going over it and compile a list of things that need to be done. Also will be taking pics for before&after shots. But be forwarned, I'm not a fast worker. I can't explain it, but my projects seem to drag on....
Hey Bob, if it wouldn't be too much trouble, think you might put together a simple list of the stuff you have? I do need a bunch of stuff.
.
WELCOME! WELCOME! WELCOME! Charcoal Metallic/Silver, very nice. I however am partial to Mahogany Metallic/Cinnabar!!!!! Enjoy your resto and ask if you need help. Lots of knowledge floating around here.
