Default instrument panel change

has anyone ever heard of or tried to install a different instument panel cluster into a 1988 vette? iam tired of the video game graphics in my c4. the problem is that i love my car, i just dont like the pre 1990 dash set up. i have been very fortunate with my dash and it actually performs like new, but once again i would like to have at least a partial analog setup, much like the later c4s.
so any info on late model to early model c4 swaps would be fantastic. or for that matter, info on installing regular type gauges.
thanx again for the best auto web site there is!!!!!!!

Sometimes it helps if you look around first.

"Pictures of my new dash" is a poll I started to see what people would do with the panels I made. Check it out.

Thanks for the link Jon, but that site was one the first places I visited even as I was thinking about whether to do this with my dash.

Good information though!

Default Will C-2 or C-3 gauges fit?

I am studying the analog dash idea or my C-4.

The std. size AutoMeter is 2 1/16". Are the 'retro Corvette gauges the same size?

What mounting problems will I encounter? I'd like to use a dash similar to the one in the link, but with Vette gauges IF; 10 they work as well as the AM, and 2) if they mount okay.

I think I'll use the A- pillar mounts, as well. Any comments on this product from Eckler's? I've had mixed luck with these tape-on parts.

Thanks in advance for helpful comments.
Mike

I would use Autometer over the Stock C2 stuff.. considering the Autometer with have the latest technology and accuracy included in them.

As for the A-Pillar pods.. they actually use little push on pins ( similar to the plastic door panel clip they use on other cars. I ended up used 4 screws in my A-Pillar pod just to keep it rock solid.
