1985 coupe
Default Code 43

Can a mild perfomance cam set off this knock sensor code. It only shows up when I get on it. checked connection to sensor , ok. I will probably replace sensor this weekend and if that doesnt help. the Elec spark mod. any help is appreciated.

It is the knock sensor, I had the same problem. But it is a two stage problem....I replaced the sensor and 75% of the problem went away. It was not until I replaced the connector that it cleared up. Seems after age and constant heat from the motor the connector gets brittle and does not make constant contact.
Replace both and you should see it go away...good luck
