My Corvette(s):
1980 Frost Beige
Default Tire Size Question

My 1980 C3 came with P225 70R15 Tires on aluninium wheels on the car. This is the size mentioned in the owners manual.
It also came with an extra set of original wheels with P245 60R15 Tires mounted on them.
Will the bigger tires be OK on this car? Both set are tires are fine
so I don't know whether to keep them or sell them. Could they dry rot just being stored in my garage? Thanks for your help.
Brian

245-60R15 will fit with plenty of room. They will, however, cause a bit of speedometer error. The speedo will read about 3% high (so, if it read 65, you'd really be going 63).

I agree the wider is by far better, you loose a bit of ground clearence. The handling makes up for it by far, its just a much more stable feel into the corners.

Just keep those white letters out, I have mine oragally mounted with the black side out last spring and just dint look right at all.
