Default how much can a stock TH350 handle

hey guys, after much frustration, I pulled the LT-1 motor, went to a (same block) 383 stroker, all new internals, and some other mods. What the heck.... if it's out might as well go for-it!! My question is what mods or possible other trans should I now need to do? The motor dyno sheet reveals 468 h.p. (flywheel) and 482 lbs. torque. I don't plan on runnin it hard (yet) but what will I need to do to the stock TH 350 3.55 rear gear?? Thanks

the th350 is a pretty tough tranny, if it is in good shape, run it. i would take it apart and make sure that all is well and then toss in a B&M shift kit and a 2200-2400 stall converter. it will really wake up your car. 3.55's are good with the lower first gear of the th350 but the u-joints will need to be upgraded. if you start running slicks or very aggresive tires, then it's a toss up between the rearend and tranny as to what will grenade first. thanks AKRAY, I have, and will keep standard BF goodrich 265/60/15 RWL I am going to do the tranny mods a bit down the road 6 or 8 mos as I have already bitten off more than I planned.

Crebo, I glassed in a L-88 (mini) hood scoop it is about 14w 37 L and gives me 2.50" above actual exterrior hood surface. I thought it looked better, and less obtrusive than the full size L-88 scoop for my application. The car is being painted now, and I'll send a pic of the finished deal. I don't know if this is of interest to anyone, but I installed a auto-gauge brand vac gauge from 0 to 35 psi. under the hood. It ran about 15 bucks, is illuminated (red as the motor accessories) fabricated a small bracket and mounted it to the carb stud, then angled it at about 30 degrees for viewing. I am running about 17 psi at idle. it's just a handy way of monitoring vac for the vette accessories, tie it into a vac line, and that's it. for less than 20 bucks it works well keeps the guessing game away, and looks pretty cool under the hood.

You have to post the pic. Not ready to paint mine yet...actually not enought money yet. I really want to see the guage idea. Sounds cool I bet it even looks cooler. Something that I'd def be interested in doing.

Brian,
Hows it been. In the military in at a desert base so you can imagine how busy I have become as of late. I've finally purchased th parts my my engine mods.

Edelbrock RPM heads # 6045
Edelbrock Air Gap # 7561
Lunati cam #00024lk
valve lft .544
lobe lft .320
.50 dur 230
adv dur 292
Magnum roller tips

I was going with the gm heads but got a pretty good deal for the intake and heads..... $1624 for both shipped.
Everything is put on....I'm just waiting for my new fan shroud to come in should be today. Then hopefully I'll be on the road....not too sure about the hp and tq....I think Is going to be close to my goal. I want about 400hp on the ground.....

Plan to change the rear gears after my wife forgets about this money I spent.

If anyone is interested. I'll post pic's...I'm very proud because I did most of the work myself of course with alot of tutoring. I know people will critize my cheezy 396 chrome valve covers.

Anyway take it easy guys...
I should be up and running by the weekend.

Jon Please post a pic of the paint and the guage.
Crebo
