Default Question about VIN on Removal Top

I've got an 88 which I thought was all original other than the radio. Only 35XXX miles and have most documentation. I took the top off today and thought I'd check the VIN on the top. I remember reading where the original tops had the VIN engraved on it. Well I couldn't find the VIN. Does anybody know if an 88 should have the VIN on the top. I did find a small engraving stating it was an "Almacoat 2000" and also "ALMAC PLASTICS". Did a Google and found several sites for this company but it's in Spanish and I couldn't get it to load. So I'm assuming I have a replacement top. Anybody heard of this company?

Just looked at the top from my "90" & found a number that is not related to the vin. The top came with the '90' so I know it is original. Has the same manufacturers Almacoat 2000,etc.. as yours.

My ‘94 had the VIN stamped into the frame of my transparent top.

My ‘96 is 100% stock, it does not have the VIN stamp in the frame of the transparent top . The ‘96 is a dual roof (bronze and a hard top), I have not taken a look at the hard top to see if the VIN is located there.
