Someone around here already did a swap, into a C3.

Run a search specifically in the C3 section.

Get a copy of April's Vette Magazine, there's an article on a '69 roadster that has a LS-1 transplanted into it. They tell of everything the owner had to go through to get in and get it running correctly, great article.

Mciamp99,

I am deciding between a LT1 and a LS1, the Lt1 moter I could get now locally, but the LS1 I might have to wait for a while.

I had an LT1 in a Z28(96) and that had lots of power and was unbelievably good on gas, reliable etc. I was very happy with around 310 or so hp and I didn't even try to modify it. The only reason I want the LS1 is because of that awesome manifold look, that may sound stupid but that is the only thing that makes me want it so bad. I could probably get a 97 LT1 tomorrow, with harness and all!

Over all which one is better, LT1 or LS1? Everything included, MOdifications to c3, extra parts, hp, dependability, etc..
I know that the Ls1 is all aluminum, and probably has a life of 200,000 miles , but is the weight and power really worth the price? What do you all think?

I already have a high horse power 454SS truck and I don't want another gas guzzler for sure. I Love my SS but not the gas mileage, to have two Big blocks in the garage!

This is for my project 72 convertible, that will have vbp front and rear monospring system, 17" rims and no originality interior(c4seats, auto meter gauges, custom interior etc. I want to be able to drive this thing across the country if need be. An everyday awesome SHARK!

I really cant say as what mods are needed for the LS-1. I do not know if mounts need to be modified or not. As for the LT-1/4 you need to change the accessories to the Corvette style. The Camaro ones hit the A-Frames. THis will incur some additonal cost. Your computer needs to have VATS removed and the Tranny addressed as well if you do not use the tranny that came with the motor. You may want to change to electronic Tach as well, as there will be no tach drive. I havent tied my tach in yet, but hope it works.(75 is Electronic)

I did c-4 seats in our 75, very comfortable, but I sit a tad to high and touch the roof. My short wife likes them as she can see over the dash better.

Either way ,you will have a very sweet ride, the computer is really the biggest obstacle and many places can take care of that for you. Email or PM me if I can help you, I am no professional but learned a lot doing this conversion. Also check out VetteDan, he has a website showing his 76 with an LT-1 and what he went through.
