Default Rechrome?

The car I am looking at has original side pipes on the car, they show some pitting here and there but not real bad,can you have these cleaned and re chromed? Was wondering if anyone went this option? what about cost? and who to do the work if any? Thanks,
Terry

Pappy,
Since you said original side pipes I assume that it is a 69 as they were the only ones to come with side pipes. Those covers are alumnum, not chrome. I would try cleaning them first to see if you can get them clean. Then maybe the pitting will not be noticable.

There actually pot metal that has been chromed.Ive talked to vendors about this and have come to the conclusion that it is about the same price as buying some repops.Paragon has them and sometimes they have some blems that dont look bad.Pot metal is VERY expensive to have chromed.I just got a quote to have 2 vent windows for a plymouth GTX chromed for $1000.
