Default Headlights and fuses judged?

I can now see why some people see the NCRS as the Corvette Nazi's...judging based on wear & tear items like this seem to be a little extreme. One of my fuses blew so I went out to the autoparts store to get a replacement (before I got the judging manual). Now I have an "incorrect" fuse. But I can still appreciate & respect the amount of detail documented by the NCRS. Everything you could possibly want to know about your 'vette the way it left the factory is right there for ya...
I just don't see myself going over top to make my car 100% factory original. I'm still interested to see where my 'vette stands and I'll probably have mine judged this year...I'll see how I feel then!
Does anybody know where I can get the correct windshield washer fluid for my '72?

Don't feel bad - not many cars have the "correct" original color-coded fuses, and there is still some confusion over exactly when they were used and in exactly which positions in the fuse blocks. Don't waste your money on reproduction color-coded fuses either, 'cuz they're not done correctly and may get the same deduction as a standard fuse. There are 4500 points for the whole car, and you can lose 270 of them and still make Top Flight, and the fuse thing might cost you one point (the entire fuse panel and under-dash wiring is only allocated 5 points).

Guys, this is part of the fun of it! You can't imagine the surprise of finding a correct Headlight for a 58 in a junkyard and in mint condition! I spend a good amount of time searching through out of the way yards that do not crush cars, and you would be amazed what you can find! An awful lot of the parts are not Corvette specific and you can make a nice little side business selling the correct parts to friends who are not inclined to search through the junkyards. It just makes your day when you find Fuller Emerson gas cap for a C1 that will bring $100 any day of the week, and you only pay a couple of bucks for it! There are some real jewels out there you just have to educate yourself what to look for.

John,

For over 15 years I combed most of the yards in peninsular Florida for T-3 headlamps and some other goodies. Sold 'em at the Cypress Gardens NCRS show and through the mail. Helped keep my Corvette sickness afloat (until the repros arrived...)
