Default Random (automatic) window washer fluid

It's happened a few times now. I'll be driving and the window washer fluid automatically begins to pump out of the window wipers. Is there an automatic window washing feature of the 2002 C5 that I just don't know about (if so I'm going to feel really stupid) or is my car just acting up? To turn it off I just push the button as if to manually wash the windows. Strange.

No automatic feature that I know of. Sounds like you have an electrical problem.

The only time I see washer fluid is under hard excelerations. It happened on my 98 and also on 2000. A few drops will come up on the widshield but only when I am pushing the GO_FAST pedal.

Karl: Humm, that's really interesting. Mine will just randomly come flowing out no matter how far the "GO_FAST" pedal is depressed. Did you have yours fixed? If so, did they say what the solution is/was?

Personally, my eyes water when I ride a bike or roller blade really fast. Maybe your Vette is doing the same thing? Going too fast so it's eye's water? ;-)

No I just figure it was because of the exceleration and a little fluid leaking out of the washer fluid tank. It has a small vent hole in the top of it.

Mine did that once, using throttle up a hill.

Several guys have fixed this by using a Ford Taurus windshield washer check valve in washer line. Hopefully vette won't reject "transplant".

Nope, but someday.
Default Catera Check valve

Hi there,
I use a check valve from a Catera, to alleviate this condition.
$4 from GM.
