Default I need a c5 mechanic in Raleigh NC, local dealers service dept is terrible!

So I bought this 99 coupe from a local dealer. I can not believe their incompetence. For example, the BCM was recently replaced due to a water leak. The technician covered the new BCM with a plastic trash bag to prevent further problems. Does anyone know of a reputible c5 expert in the Raleigh area?

Thanks c4c5 for all of your help over the past few weeks. When I pointed out the plastic bag covering the BCM to the Service Manager, he blamed it on the guy that tested the car for H20 leaks............

what town is this dealership in, or what road is it on if you don't want to mention the name.

Jeff, give Hendricks in Cary a try. See Sean for write up, Mike M. is service director, straight shooter. I've never taken my C5 to Burke, Hendricks been wrench turning mine since day one. Send me your email address for additional insight. I'm probably in your area (Fuquay).

Mac - Is Mike M's last name Martin by any chance?

Jeff - Small world, I used to work at what used to be called Summit Savings Bank and someone at the Fuquay office got fired and I had to haul my butt up their from Sanford for a few weeks. I don't know what the bank is called now, or if it's even still there. That was 87, ancient times.

Hmph, is Hendrick the one on US1, north of Raleigh, a little north of where 401 splits off? Not trying to pry into the guy's likfe or anything, just thinking it was yet another "small world" scenario. The son of the owner of the local Chevy dealer works at a Chevy dealer down there - I think it's Hendrick but maybe it's Sir Walter Raleigh (assuming it's still there). But then, he's probably in sales anyhow.

Oh well, didn't mean to hijack the thread.

Shark, Sir Walter is west of Raleigh, out by the airport on RT70. There is another Chevy dealer out where you mentioned, 401 towards Knightdale, but I can't recall the dealers name. Hendrick is in Cary, southwest of Raleigh off US64.

I realize that taking your car to a dealer (any dealer) can be a crapshoot because you don't always get the same mechanic, or even a mechanic who knows Corvettes... however, I have had both my C4 (RIP) and C5 in for service at Hendrick Chevy in Cary, and so far they have treated me well, diagnosed and repaired the car correctly (and the first time), and I can't complain.

OK, I can. I brought my 2001 Silverado in there for multiple services (it was a real POS) and some of the work wasn't the best. So, hey, maybe in this case they did have an experience Corvette technician take care of me...

Also, this dealership is (I believe) the number one seller of new Corvettes in the state; now their sales department is the pits as the sales manager is a greedy little SOB and doesn't like to give good deals (which is why I didn't buy my car from them) but as a large seller of 'vettes, one can also assume that they repair a lot of 'vettes, and I think that's a good thing. They've probably got some experienced techs.
