Default If it looks like this...

I wouldn't mind if the new Corvette C6 looks like this guys artist impression. It has a real hint of supercar behind it. Hopefully, he's sent a copy onto GM!!! Ha! Ha!

What do you guys think?

I'm just now getting around to thinking the C5 as "OK." I guess I'm just a die hard old muscle car fan. I don't really care for any of the new cars coming out. This guys drawing is better than the one seen in the car mags a while back though.

Default C6 - Hopefully

Zektor,

This artists' rendering of the C6 Corvette is outstanding. The lines are clean, crisp and still manage to present a hint of Corvette. On the other hand the overall styling is a bit advanced for some consumers. That's why the actual version that gets to the market place will be a compromise. It will have a little of this, a little of that, something borrowed, something new. What it won't have is a bold "edgie" super car look the screams "in your face Lamborgini".

Regards - Remo

I don't know. When I saw the pic my first thought was "Camaro".

The first thing I thought of was the Mitsubishi 3000 GT with those headlights.

I've always been a big fan of covered/pop-up headlights, but I can appreciate the fact that they do contribute to unnecessary curb weight.

There are very few visible headlight designs that I like. I just hope the one that will be implemented into the C6 will be unique and not something reminiscent of another automobile.

Default pop ups rule

That didn't look like a corvette to me, except for the license plate.

I love the pop-ups. Every car I've ever owned has had them--
I've had a trans am, 2 firebirds, and the vette.

At least they add a unique look that no other car has. That's worth a lot. Who cares about a couple of lbs.

The front lights always add a lot of character to a front end.
Do them wrong, and I hate the whole front end design.

Default c6 drawing

It's a cool drawing but it doesn't have that corvette look.It has too many rounded edges. No pop up lights(which I am praying they will keep).I guess only time will tell.

Default I'm not so sure...

Interesting...

I think there is a lot of Corvette in this picture...

Front bumper is a mix between C5 and 80' - '82 C3 in styling.
Hood hump is C4
Front fenders... C3
Side scallops... a progression from all generations...
Top of doors thru rear fender... C3
View over trunk... a mix of C4 and C5
Roofline... very C5
Fender arches... C3

I also feel that this picture shows a natural progression of the Corvette into a supercar shape... For instance...

C1... Upright, no aggressiveness in shape, a pretty car.
C2... Less upright, more aggressive stance, car still pretty... but meaner.
C3... A lower looking car, aggressive looks, the definitive Corvette shape.
C4... Lower, wider, bigger rubber. An aggressive shape, but toned down shape in body (compared to C3).
C5... Dynamically, a better car all round. Styling is somewhere between C3 and C4 but toned down again.

This guys picture...

Looks wider, lower, more aggressive than C4 and C5. A lot of C3 cues in this picture, without upsetting the C4 and C5 die-hards. Supercar looks, which the Corvette will not suffer from having.

I fail to see where this car is more rounded than previous generations? (C4,C5) If anything it has a lot more sharper edges, front fenders. etc?

The lights... hmmm! Now I am a fan of pop-up lights, they have always looked sporting, and have in history always tended to be equipped to sports cars. Therefore they do not look out of place on a Corvette. But, fixed lights do tend to give a car a face, and if done well (ie. projector styled, chrome look etc) actually add detail to the front of the car. As much as I love the pop-up lamps on cars, sometimes they can make a car a little bland to look at when in the lowered position.

I don't care if they do not add pop-up's to the C6... AS LONG as the car still looks aggressive I will love it. CORVETTE TEAM: No cute headlamps PLEASE!!!

I own a C3 Corvette, and I will say that this is the best C6 artists impression I have seen yet... I love it!!! If they make it like this then they are on to a winner!!!

Cheers

The front end is ugly, too low slung. I want to be reminded I am in a Vette, when I look past the cockpit. I also agree they should keep the pop-up lights, and avoid those ugly ricer lights.

Great Picture , to me it looks more like a new Camero or a new Nisson Z, I hope Corvette keeps with the hidden pop-up headlights. Just my $.02 worth !!

I find the various ideas of what the C6 will look like to be rather interesting. I just hope they keep it more "pure" Corvette and don't try to copy the trends and styles of imports. The people that buy the imports are in their own world, and don't understand the Corvette heritage. I must admit that I have never gotten use to the back of the C5. Too big, too square, the first time I saw it, I thought it was a kit car. Perhaps the C6 will address that problem. Just my personal opinion.

I don't know, I think it kind of looks like the new GTO from what I remember what it's supposed to look like. If so, there goes the uniqueness of the Corvette.
