Default TPI With Electric Fans

How does the TPI system interface with an electric fan setup? Is the computer set up to control the fan(s), or do I need a separate thermal control?

Yes it can provide a signal based upon a temp sendor in the head to trigger a relay to kick the fans. You have to get chip reprogrammed for the cooler on/off settings to keep that shark nice and cool.

I think this is too much hassle. I run a stand alone temp sensor/relay kit to kick the fans. Pep Boys sells one you put in the radiator fins for about $30 that will kick on a 180, and off at 170 and come on when the a/c is on.

Dewitts sells a fan relay kit that is pretty nice that uses a sensor on the block.

Makes sense. I just wanted to make sure that the comouter wouldn't freak out if I didn't wire the fan to it. I guess I will wire one fan to be always on (like the mechanical fan), and the other to work off the temp sensor. Does that make sense, or should I just wire both to the temp sensor, and have done with it?

Nahhhhh... don't wire one to be always on. It will just tax the fan motor with running needlessly.

Sounds good. Next question:

Is this a good deal on the fans?

Assuming that is a good deal, does the 195/175 switch sound right, or should I see if they will switch it with a 185/165 switch?
