Cues from the SS?
Just a hunch, but the Chevy SS that was unveiled in Detroit this year seems to have taken several styling cues from different generations of vettes. It's got big, curvy fenders (like the C3), very sleak lines (like a C4), a stretched wheelbase with very little overhang (like the C5). GM openly admits that it's not slated for production. I wonder if the C6 will end up taking a lot of cues from this thing if the response to it is good? Perhaps the C6 is already designed, and they're feeling the waters to try to project the reaction.
I don't think that this is too far fetched. It is a V8 RWD sports car with a sporty suspension and big brakes. The other cues seem like things that have been floating around in the media over the past year or so. Maybe they're going for a retro look.
I think the car is gorgeous, except for the butt ugly front grille and emblems and stuff, but that wouldn't make it anyway.
Oh well. Like I said, just a hunch.

Which one? A future one, or one of the past ones? I love the F-body cars, but I don't remember them being so vuluptuous. It seems like their fenders, and lines in general, have traditionally been more wedge-like.

It's UGLY...
I thought the same when I saw this concept car... I thought it looked very similar to some of the artists renditions of what the new Corvette would look like, especially the red one in Road & Track (I think!).
I don't like it, and I hope the new Corvette does not look like this!!!!
A Corvette looking like my other post "If it looks like this..." is more of what I think a Corvette should look like.
I hope GM do not get it wrong... it will be a sad day for Corvette fans...
Cheers

I think it's got some good and bad points. Some of the bad stuff could be removed by making it a 2-door, 2-seater, instead of the oddly-configured four-door that this thing has. I like the rear end, but would not like to see the tail pipes in the bumper like a 60's Mustang. If they fixed those, and got rid of the wierd big mouth on the front of it, they'd have something.

C6's body design was probably frozen several years ago, except
for minor changes. I think that was the case for C5--from All
Corvettes are Red.
