power stop cross drilled rotors

I want to get these for my 89 coupe. Does anybody have any comments on them???????????????????

I have been warned to stay away from cross drilled rotors as they tend to crack around the holes....stock or slotted...

I have had them on the rear for two years now. No problems .
That said The fronts do run harder probably do 80% or more of the breaking. So yes I have heard of cracking around the drilled holes. I guess about the only way to really tell if you will have the problem is to try it and see. If you are after looks and rarely drive hard it'll probably work fine. If used hard, Well I'll wait for some one to use them and see.

Have them on the front....no probs 3 years but very little mileage. Surprised someone had them on the rear...a lot harder to find!

If you're worried about cracking.... might I suggest getting the brake bias spring that balances the front /rear braking from Doug Rippie Motorsports and other suppliers?

If you do any serious braking bringing the car down from triple digit speeds... you'll find that those rotors will suffer heat fractures. If the car is used for standard transportation, they may last a while. I mention the fractures because I had a set in one of the evolutions my car went through and they eventually cracked out. I attributed it to doing some hard stops in which the car needed to be brought to below the speed limit fairly quickly

Have heard the cracking around hole stories also. I'm soon gonna have to put rotors on also. I was gonna go with the premium sport rotors out of Ecklers but they are close to the same price as the lingenfelter brake rotors.

I used stock non-drilled rotors on 88 Vette that I SCCA road raced. They do tend to crack but that is after hard braking from 145 mph to 70 every lap and several other hard stops every lap for 20 or 30 minutes. When you race one of these cars, replacing rotors every two or three weekends is just part
of doing business. I have never cracked a rotor on my 86 street car. It sounds like these drilled rotors are more prone to cracks, or you guys are really stomping on them.

I thought all drilled rotors (not the rotors that are simply vented) were susceptible to cracking. It stands to reason if you remove metal you will lessen the strength eventually, especially in repeated hard braking situations.

ALL drilled rotors are prone to cracking. PERIOD. Don't let anyone fool you into believing other wise. Will they crack depends on your use of the vehicle. Common sense will tell you if the car is barely used, chances are they will not crack within a few years or maybe not all. But who cares, if they look cool.
Can any rotor crack, drilled or non-drilled? YES. Depends on use of the vehicle.

The only vented rotor I know of that has a lesser chance of cracking are the ones that are molded with the vent holes.
I think a company called Mov 'it sells them. They are basically Porsche brakes if memory serves me correctly. Be ready to spend $$$$$ for those.

I have the ZR1 big brake kit from Mid America Design. I've got about 8K on them and so far so good. Most is just regular driving but ive done some consistent 120 to 0 stops before while at the track and so far so good.

These rotors are "spot drilled" so they do not go all the way through, more like a dimple effect.

Next set of brakes I get will be the C5 conversion but that wont be for awhile since mine are just fine.
