Default Lingenfelter Header question..........

2 part question............

1. I recently bought a pair of used 1 5/8" Ceramic coated Lingenfelter headers for my '86 coupe. The coating on the headers is a little worn, where can I get them refinished and how much am I looking at as far as price? Is there any paint I could apply or is it best to have them ceramic coated again?

2. I bought the headers without the Y-pipe, I already had a Lingenfelter Y-pipe I got from another Forum member.
My question is the diameter of the Y-pipe (I think it's 3") is a lot bigger than the diameter of the end of the headers, So do I need to buy reducers? Is anybody using these headers and do they come with reducers from Lingenfelter?

Thanks,
Mark

And here is a 2 part answer...

1)http://www.jet-hot.com/ web site for hot coating..I have
heard great things about them.

2) I would thing that the Ligenfelter site would have the collectors you need...http://www.lingenfelter.com/

Thanks for the heads up on Jet Hot.

I went on Lingenfelters site and they don't show any reducers for sale. When looking at the pic of the headers and Y-pipe attached it looks as if there are no reduces, it looks like the Headers should mate up with the Y-pipe without them?

Hmmmmmmmmmm?

I would check out HPC
http://www.hpcoatings.com/index.htm

I got my headers done there. They have a better warranty then Jet-hot.

Also vettn94 on the forum had a set done for his Z28 when he had it.. after 5 years they still looked brand new..

I think HPC warranty is 3 year 100% coverage if needed to be re coated.. then after 3 years (lifetime) it is 50% of what you originally paid..

Just out of curiosity Jeff, what does it cost to get them refinished?

I would have to find my receipt.. If I remember right is was like $225 plus shipping both ways. you could call them and ask. They will also tell you which location to ship to (they have 4)

I definetly recommend HPC, great quality and lasts.
They are a little less expensive than Jet Hot and have locations in the West, Midwest, East, and South as well I believe. Find the one closest to you.
