Check some of the Vette boneyards (www.vette2vette.com, for example). I saw a bunch at Carlisle for $25 and under, in decent shape.

If you decide, while you're doing this, to replace the gas hood-assist shocks, carparts.com has a set by Gabriel for about $10 each that fit wonderfully.

My 86 has the old scissors type support and I would like to convert to the later style gas support. Any body tried one of the Eckler's kit? Any suggestions? Thanks Charlie
