I would like to purchase a couple of die-cast Corvettes. Where do you purchase them? Any specific web site that is recommended or something?
Thanks! :D

Every time I click on a Corvette to look at it specifically, it takes me to the main page and not to the desired link. Anybody else notice this?

When you get to the main page you can click on the link for Die Cast. You can then enter Corvette for your search criteria.
I have most of the Corvettes that Franklin Mint has made. Very nice models in my opinion. I will try to get a picture of my collection posted soon. I recently moved and have not yet un-packed them.

1:18 I'm thinking. Maybe 1:24 is too small?
As for the maker, I really don't know anything about the ones out there.
Price? Hopefully under $100. Is that possible?
Thanks! :D

TR,
The Franklin Mint and Danbury Mint are the two main Die Cast manufacturers. I have a friend that collects nothing but Franklin Mint stuff of all kinds and he says they are simply the best quality stuff around. Personally I go for the vintage/antique stuff.
Good luck in your searches............... Nut
TR, send me a IM and I'll send you some pictures of the ones I have. Franklin Mint is mostly all smaller scale and over $100 as a rule. Ertl makes nice ones in 1/18 for one and can be found on Ebay between $20 to $30;) Don't be spending that "real" Corvette money on models now dude.:nono :L

Go to Ebay, thats where I got my 125 1/18 most of them anyway,
Just be sure you don't pay more than their worth.
You can usually find the rare ones on there , but you'll end up paying for them.

I'm not looking for rare, I just want to start at C3s, 2s and 1s all of the time. That way I'll always be thinking about my future Vettes.
You should see the collection Lou has going! :eek I'm jealous... :D

I started collecting corvettes a little while ago, all sizes and colors. Ebay is great, also try the big stores, Walmart and Kmart.

once you buy one, you will buy more. I have about 26 or so just vettes in my collection. That is on top of the 20 or so other cars I have. I have 4 cars that were over $100.

Thanks for the resources! I would like to get one or two right now so I don't go crazy on speding the money on them. After all, I'm saving up for the real thing right now! ;) :D

I got for Christmas the Franklin Mints 1:12 Scale 67 Vette Roadster L88. It has working lights including the dash lights, working horn and it starts up. Also has removable wheels and air cleaner. Glovebox and Ashtray open up. The windows roll up and down. It is very detailed. Was like 600 bucks though.

I bought one at Costco for $20 Canadian ($14 U.S.). It is a very nice quality C5, but the Italian company makes many more.
Try... www.bburago.com

cscarlson:
Costco had lots of different models in stock (not just Corvette) just before Christmas. They are 1/18 with opening doors, opening hood, front wheels that turn with the steering wheel. Metal bodies and some plastic finish (mostly interior). All the Costco models were $20 Canadian.
Go to the website of www.bburago.com and you can find the worldwide distributors. Their e-mail addresses are listed if you can't find the models at your local Costco or other store.

BJ's Wholesale also carries this brand for $9.99 US.
It is hit or miss as to what you will find and when.
These same cars at Toys R Us are $20+ :eek
I buy mine from a flea market, they are made by American Muscle, they are sold at alot of your hobby shops, they cost anywhere from twenty five to thirty five dollars
To Date: This is one of the best sites I have found for affordable diecast muscle. I have spent a lot of $$ with these fella's and their msde always arrives on time and not bent kicked, or damg'd! No commissions, either.

You live in NJ. Plan a trip this summer to Carlisle. You can pick from almost anything there. Be sure to go to the NCRS booth under the grandstands first. They usually have the better prices. You get the best selection on Friday when the show opens. I have seen some great diescasts, but they have limited numbers of certain models, especially newer models. By Saturday, they are gone.

Anybody know where I can get a 1991 White Coupe?
I've seen the promos in other colors - and in the Vert, but not a coupe.
I'd guess '91-96 would look about the same, but what years other than '91 would have the sawblade wheels and be a white coupe?

I actually started collecting diecast trying to find all the cars that I've owned in my lifetime then farm equiptment and ended up with a Mack R Tractor trailer as well. Now have about 75 trucks and 30 Rusty Wallace and tons of misc. vehicles.
I got the 2001 Earnhardt 24K Gold Vette before I even got me a real one!
I got most on Ebay and found several sellers to deal with.Once I made a purchase I emailed them alittle wishlist of what I wanted and got alot better price buying a few at a time from them.
As for buying some of the Vettes try looking up Duntov in the search field on Ebay. They usually have several years to choose from.
I have a 69 1/18 scale made by Revell I picked up at fleamarket for $10.00 but thats pretty nice as well.
Also if it doesn't come in the box you shouldn't pay the high dollar for it as its not as collectable anymore.
Thats my 2 cents worth!

I have a good collection going and I have got 2 of them off of ebay and the rest have come from either a toy store, Wal Mart, or K mart.
