Default European Power War!

If you haven't been reading, there is a new european power war going on between Audi, Mercedes, and even Volkswagon. The new Mercedes E55 AMG has 469hp and 516 lb-ft. of torque., 332 cu-in. (not without supercharging). This is a 5-speed automatic that has clocked 0-60 in 4.5 sec., 1/4 mi. in 12.4 sec., and weighs a hefty 3900 pounds. Thank god the thing is governor limited to 156 mph. All this can be yours for $88K. There are alot of people out there that will spend that easily. Unless you are driving a 405hp ZO6, you will need to worry about one of these in your rearview, and that would be pretty close if you had a bad launch with the ZO6. That's why I keep spending power money, to save myself from humiliation, which may not be that far away at this rate. If this car was AWD, it would be a catastophic for me, and you at any traffic light. Mercedes is claiming that this is the worlds fastest production sedan, formally held by the BMW M5. Make mine a 500 hp C6, please. (hold the supercharger)

Check out the E55 AMG in the December 2002 issue of CAR and DRIVER, page 138. Beware! Coming into a rearview mirror near you.

Ever notice how no matter what you do to your car to make it faster, someone else will always make a faster car? Imagine if the Merc was 800lbs. less hefty! Even our mighty Z06 would fall victim.

It could happen, but what about the 750hp Cadillac Cien, they say that they will not build it.

We're all badasses until a bigger badass comes along. Just whoop the ones you can whoop and try to intimidate the ones you can't.
