Early color build out for 2003 on Corvettes

Administrative Message from GM. The following colors will build out early for the 2003 model year.

Quick Silver 02-24-2003
Speedway White 02-24-2003
E/Blue 05-05-2003

Simply put your Corvette with one of these colors will need to be built before these dates. Get you order in quickly to be sure of getting the color you want.

Ordering cut off date will be approx. 4 week before the above dates.

Does that mean if I want a Speedway White 03, lets say in August of 03, unless its already built and on someones lot, it cant be orderd?

Silver, Electron blue and White Corvettes not available all model year long. Sure would like to have a "rare" white 03.

Is that a common occurance? or a marketing tool? What is logic or economic reason behind such a "policy"?
