Default Thinking about selling

Well . . . I've been thinking about selling the '75. I actually have an offer on the table right now that is hard to refuse. After all of the work that I have put into it, I'm kind of feeling that I am ready for a new project.

I'm not sure what it will be, but possibly a C-4.

Anyone want to talk me out of it? Into it?

Ooh, ooh . . . how about a nice '69 El Camino as my next project?

Give my your thoughts if you please . . .

Ron

If ya gonna sell then your new project should be another Vette IMHO.

However seeing it is getting closer to Christmas you could donate that 75 to the MOE FUND and your donation will be received gladly.

Ron,

I sold my '72 over 15 years ago and even though I love my '81; I regret selling it to this day. Even if you move up to a C4/C5, you're gonna wish you hadn't sold the Shark. Well, maybe not if you get a C5.

IM(not so)HO. ........... Nut

Isn't it funny how these things can be such a love/hate relationship? I have not decided yet whether to take the offer. However, I have been thinking about a later model C4 to compliment this one.

There is the work that I have done to it to consider. I kind of hate to get rid of it, simply because of all the blood sweat and tears that have gone into getting it this far. Winter is here, the car will sit most of the time in the garage. Even with typical southern California weather, I don't use this thing much in the winter time. I'm sure that in a month or so, my interest level will be back up . . .

Hmmmm . . . still haven't figured out what to do . . .

I had a 1978 Pace Car, sold it and bought a 1993. Been very happy with it.

As someone told me just before I sold my 68 Camaro and bought my new Corvette, you're only here for a little while--might as well enjoy it. Do what makes you smile the most--or gives you the least buyer's/seller's remorse.

Don't sell.I guess I am just very partial to C3's. Seeing a C3 cruising down the road is one the most delightful sights!!

Well . . . remember what I said about the love/hate thing?

Well, I've been battling an oil leak for a while. Trying to figure out where the heck it's coming from. With all of the air current under the hood, oil has a tendency to migrate around the engine compartment making finding the source of the leak a real PITA.

Well, I got out there tonight and started tearing things apart. I've been suspecting that the oil was coming from where the fuel pump mounts to the block. Remember on a small block that the fuel pump actually bolts up to the outside of an adaptor plate, which in turn bolts up to the block. So, there are two gaskets to potentially leak oil.

Okay . . . here's the hate . . . anyone who has changed fuel pumps on a C3 can identify with the hate thing . . . geez . . . if my hands were about 3 times smaller and I didn't have to bend over so far and . . . well . . . I'm thinking I should have pulled the engine instead!!

But now for the love . . . now that I have the fuel pump and adaptor plate off, I'm pretty sure that this is where the oil leak was. If so, I'll have it back together day after tomorrow (I have a business reception tomorrow night) so I can fire it up and take it for a cruise to check it out. If the oil leak is gone, then I'm back in love . . .

Yeah Frank, you're right . . . I won't sell it . . . I hate it . . . I love it . . . I hate it . . . I love it . . . but, I won't sell it . . .

But, about that '69 El Camino or C4 . . .

I knew It I knew it I knew it!!

I told you so!! Been there done that

Definitely a love hate relationship. My car has been a major PITA just go get into good running shape but I LOVE IT. Everytime I step out I still can't believe I got one. Everytime I go through those gears I fall in love even more. I am going to miss her when I tear her down to turn her into an absolute beast!

The first time I tried to look for it from the top I could not even find it. When I saw what I had to get thru just to get to it (the hate part). After I took all the stuff off for the cam swap. I wanted to change a fitting on the fuel pump for a better looking one I saw that it was practicly out in the WIDE open I took advantage of the situation to pull the thing off. Now I have a clean nice looking fuel pump (the love part).

I cleaned up the engine bay while I was doing the cam swap and I can't believe it. I want to take a picture and hang it up on my wall
