My Corvette(s):
97 coupe
Default rotor rust

I have a '97 and every time it rains my rotors get a rusty look to them. Is this a common occurance and is it damaging to the brake pads?

I get that when I wash my '97. It seems to go away after the first brake application. I have not noticed excessive wear or any other problem.

The light rusting is normal. About the only thing it will cause is a little more brake dust when you apply the brakes the first time.

Ours has done it routinely, like after every car wash, without any adverse affects.
