Who has installed a Yank ST3000 or any other converter ? What was the 1/4 mile times before and after ? I want to make mine faster , I have the 3:15 ratio and Vararam .
Thanks ,
Joe

I don't have a converter, sorry, so I can't answer that question for you. I was wondering how is the Vararam? What do you think of it? Do you feel a difference? Thanks in advance.

Ive heard very good thinks on the Yank 'verters off of Fbody guys, i know a guy w/ a 1LE auto thats got one, and he loves it (And i think his stall is actually closer or over 4000). Ask on LS1tech.com or LS1.com, or just browse through the posts on there, and see if anyone has a similar setup. Its a very good stall, and lots of people recommend it. Good luck, and keep it rubber side down!

Yes , I have been to LS1.com and check them out , but Iwanted some Corvette owners replies and opinions . The Vararam has the same performance as K&N and others . Dyno results should be the same , but this system works good after 60 mph , that is when you get the ram air effect . I was testing with the G-tech , 0 to 60 I went from 5.0-4.6 , with Vararam 0-60 4.8 to 4.6 and my best was 4.42 .Stock 1/4 mile 13.4's , with Vararam 13.20's and my best is 12.98@112 mph . So I believe it works best after 60 mph . This system needs to be cleaned every couple months or at oil changes , road crap and bugs find there way to the filter . Do I like it , yes . Do I think it works , yes .
Thanks,
Joe

I recently installed the ST 3500 in my car and I love it.

However, I came from a Pro Torque 2900 and i have a 3.42 rear in my A4.

I also swapped the cam so it is even harder to give you numbers. I will try thought. I think the the ST 3500 gave me about .1 to .2 in ET from the Pro Torque 2900. I keep a lot of records and I could write books about so you gotta trust me on this one. However this is with a bigger cam.

the ST 3500 is an excellent converter and I had to go to it becasue it hit harder and stalls higher than my previous one and I needed it because of the cam again.

Yank makes 2 3500's the SY has a 1.x STR vs. the ST 2.5.

If you are going to hit it that hard you need to have the tire to do it. I got mine for drag racing and I race on drag radials.

Drives nice and does not feel too much different from my prior converter or stock.

I think I would only want to stall @3000 unless you think 3500 is the same at idle and slow take off's , do these converters lock up ? with the 3500 did you need a programmer?
Check out my E.T's in the C-5 Tech under the thread 1/4 mile writen by C598LSI
Thanks ,
Joe

It depends on what you have and what you have planned. When I had the stock cam the Pro Torque 2900 was more than enough.

When I went to the bigger cam the the power curve moved up and the coverter was too low and not hitting hard enough (STR) to get me off the line so I was bogging.

I cannot find that post you are referring too
