calling c4c5specialist:
i have a 00 coupe with the real time select ride option, when i turn to different rides i JUST DON'T FEEL no difference. i took it to the chevy dealer and they said all systems are working and the computer shows no error codes. the vette has 30k miles. the car is still under the 36k / 3 year from GM.
is there a time element for the suspension to change ?

HI there,
The Real Time Damping (RTD) system independently controls a solenoid in each of the four shock absorbers in order to control the vehicle ride characteristics. The RTD system is capable of making these changes within milliseconds. The RTD system consists of the following major components:

The front/rear adjustable shock absorbers
The shock absorber electrical solenoids (integrated within the shock absorbers).
The front/rear position sensors
The ride control switch
The electronic suspension (ESC) module
The RTD system has the following three shock damping control settings:

TOUR -- a smooth, soft ride
SPORT -- provides more feel/response to road conditions
PERF -- Provides tight, firm ride and precise response to road conditions.
The ESC controls the damping mode selection according to the following factors:

The vehicle speed
The chassis pitch input
The steering position
The body to wheel displacement
The ride control switch position
The ESC module evaluates these inputs in order to separately control the solenoid valve position in each of the shock absorbers, providing an enhanced ride and comfort level over the widest possible range of operating conditions
What is not also stated, is that the system will automatically firm up, for a given speed rate, or driving manuever. So, if you go agressively around a corner, and you feel more body lean in the turn, you may have some issues.
Corvette engineering designed the system to be very unabtrusive, where you could not tell if the system 'steps up' to the next firmest setting.
A test, if you like, would be to go over a road with very rough surfaces, and attempt to remember how the vehicle rides, at slow speeds, maybe 10-15 mph.
Then attempt the same road, at say 35-40, and see if the ride feels unsettled, or floaty.
Then, find a friend with a FE1 or a soft ride suspension, and take the same test. My feeling, is that you will feel the different ride qualities.
Dont try it in corners, because that will change the way the system operates.
So, I would say, that I have only had a few problems with the F45 system, and those we are couple of shocks that were starting to leak.
