Security system problems

Has anyone experienced a problem with your garage door opener not working when the vette is parked in the garage? My door will not open easily with the vette in the garage or when I use the opener to put the car in. I have to hold it outside the car and push the button a number of times to get the door to open. I moved the vette out in the drive and it works every time. I suspect the passive security system signal is interfering with the remote garage door signal. I have re-programmed the garage door opener twice but it still is giving me fits. Any ideas out there?
The wife is having the same problem with her door opener when the vette is in the garage. Is there a way to shut down the passive security system on these 94 vettes?

To de-activate the PKE system ....hold down the door button on the FOB for about 5 secs. or so. The locks will cycle, you will hear & see them. If you hold the button too long the system will be re-activated.

Thanks, I'll give it a try as soon as GM gets me my new FOB that they had to re-order to replace new defective one.
