My Corvette(s):
1996 Collectors Edition (LT-4) & 78 Silver Anniver
Default 97 Intake Manifold removal

I have a 97 with a bad oil sensor. Tried to remove it without removing the manifold...no luck after 3 hours.

Is the manifold removal like the old days? I have removed them before on the 1970s motors but haven't worked with these new composite types.

Will I need a new gasket (if there is one)
Torque specs??
What about the fule injectors?

Appreciate any experienced advice.

Jim

Hi there,
Yes, you will need to purchase intake seals, and the throttle body seal.
As for the injectors, you can leave them attached.
Your 8 mm bolts are torqued to 106 in lbs, after using 242 loctite on the threads.
Torque in 3 steps, starting from the inside to the outside.
There are only the 2 coolant hoses to the throttle body.
There are no other coolant passages, within the intake.
Besttoyou, and let us know how you make out, c4c5
