My Corvette(s):
Default Seat Belt Warning Light

My seat belt warning light has started coming on, even when I am belted in. Any thoughts on what it could be?

I had that happen to me almost as soon as I got my '06 last August. It turned out that where I was parking in my parking lot at work happened to be next to a landscape island where some rabbits were making themselves confortable under some bushes.

These rabbits (and I should mention I only found out they were there after the fact) would periodically come out during the day, and begin eating at cabling on the underside of my Corvette. They ended up damaging the airbag system, and the way this damage manifested itself was a "fasten seat belt" icon light that would not go out after the dash lights went through the warm-up cycle.

The fact that your light is on indicates some form of failure in your airbag deployment system. I would take it to a dealer as soon as possible.

HI there,
Could also just be a seat belt buckle assembly.
